One of our most popular spring ski trips, the Forbidden Tour is one of the classic ski mountaineering traverses in Washington State. This spectacular 3-day journey packs an incredible amount of quality skiing into a compact route through the heart of the North Cascades, combining big glaciers, dramatic alpine terrain, and some of the best and most consistent fall-line skiing of any major Cascades ski traverse.

The route travels beneath some of the most iconic peaks in Washington—including Forbidden Peak, Sharkfin Tower, and Mount Torment—linking beautiful passes, glaciers, and long ski descents through an unforgettable alpine landscape. Compared with longer North Cascades ski traverses, the Forbidden Tour has relatively little flat glacier travel and a whole lot of actual skiing, making nearly every day feel packed with adventure.

Depending on weather, snow conditions, and group goals, we can also add summit ski descents of Sahale Mountain and Eldorado Peak. These optional summits add even more skiing, spectacular views, and another layer of adventure to an already incredible North Cascades ski mountaineering trip.

The classic Forbidden Tour is three days, but we also offer an optional fourth day for more skiing, another summit objective, or simply a more relaxed pace. Whether you choose three or four days, expect big scenery, great skiing, remote camps, and one of the most fun multi-day ski traverses in the Cascades.
