With its steep 50-degree entrance, towering rock walls, and sustained 1,600-foot descent, the Slot Couloir on Snoqualmie Mountain is one of Washington’s most iconic steep-skiing objectives and a true Snoqualmie Pass ski mountaineering classic. Few lines this close to Seattle deliver such a dramatic combination of steep terrain, incredible position, and genuinely great skiing.

Dropping into the Slot is an experience in itself. The couloir starts steep and committing before opening into a long, beautiful ribbon of snow surrounded by massive rock walls. From there, it’s sustained fall-line skiing through one of the most recognizable couloirs in the Cascades.

Ropes are carried throughout the day, and depending on snow and entrance conditions, we may belay skiers into the couloir.
