Family Climbing Day

Want to get the whole family outside for a fun day of rock climbing? Our Family Rock Climbing Days are designed to make climbing easy, exciting, and accessible for families of all experience levels—from kids trying outdoor climbing for the first time to parents who already climb and want to share the experience with their children. We offer private family climbing trips at Exit 38, Mt. Erie, Vantage, and Smith Rock, with plenty of route options that allow us to choose the perfect climbing area for your family.

Family climbing days are available as either a full day (8 hours) or half day (4 hours) and can accommodate groups of up to 10 climbers. For groups larger than five, we provide two professional climbing guides so everyone gets plenty of climbing time, attention, and encouragement. Our goal is simple: climb a lot, learn a few new skills, and have as much fun as possible!

Washington Alpine Guides can provide climbing harnesses, helmets, and climbing shoes for everyone, making this an easy way to introduce your family to outdoor rock climbing without needing to purchase a bunch of equipment first. Whether you're looking for kids' rock climbing near Seattle, a family climbing adventure in Washington, or a memorable addition to a trip to Smith Rock, we'll customize the day around your family's ages, experience, and goals.

Note: Children must weigh at least 30 pounds, which is the minimum weight recommended by most climbing harness manufacturers.
